Discovering God's Will
As winter slowly commences tiptoeing towards spring, we are beginning a new blog study on Discovering God’s Will, by Marjorie Jackson. It will be an opportunity to discover and meditate on WHO you are in Christ and HOW to experience God’s plan for your life. Perhaps you will find yourself responding to Him in new ways as you learn about trusting His designs.

In Jeremiah 29:11 we read: 'For I know the plans that I have for you', declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity, to give you a future and a hope.'

I love the absolute truth of this Scripture and the many ways I have seen the reality of it evidenced not only in my own life but over a lifetime in the lives of many. The following poem paints a poignant word picture ...
When I stand at the judgment seat of Christ
And He shows me His plan for me;
The plan for my life as it might have been
Had He had His way,
And I see how I blocked Him here
And I stopped Him there,
And I WOULD NOT YIELD MY WILL;
Will there be grief in my Savior’s eyes,
Grief, though He loves me still?
He would have me rich,
Yet I stand there poor
Stripped of all but His grace;
While memory runs like a hunted thing
Down paths that I cannot retrace.
Then my broken heart will well-nigh break
With tears that I cannot shed.
I will slowly unclasp my empty hands.
I will bow my uncrowned head.
Lord, of the years that are left to me
I place them in Thy Hands.
Take me, make me, mold me
In the pattern THOU hast planned.
