Psalm 92:12-14  (NIV)

"The righteous will flourish like a palm tree,

    they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon;

planted in the house of the Lord,

    they will flourish in the courts of our God.

They will still bear fruit in old age,

    they will stay fresh and green."

I’ve been thinking about this blog post for a while- truth be told, I’m trying to figure this out for myself and thought I’d share with you guys what I...

       My old journals remind me that I have lived through many seasons in my lifetime.

        There has been the springtime of  childhood and adolescence, then the early summertime years spent getting my own education;  then courtship and marriage.  There were some challenging days of marriage;  then motherhood and getting our children parented and educated.  Before we knew it, fall had come.   James and I were grandparents, and then great-...

For everything there is a time and a season.  The rhythms of nature reflect the cadence of our lives.

Spring arrives, and new life makes its appearance.

          Let all things now living

          A song of thanksgiving

We will soon be closing out another year. Our prayers will be that God will use our lives to bring praise, honor, and glory to Him for as long as we live on this earth.

This week our Scriptural prayer is taken from 2 Corinthians 2:14-16:

“But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere. For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and...

Our purpose in using the scriptures to guide our personal prayers is to make our hearts one with the heart of God.

Our Scriptural Prayer this week is taken from 1 Corinthians 15:58:

“Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.”

ADULT PRAYER:  Help us, Heavenly Father, to be strong and steady, standing our ground, and throwing ourselves into the work of th...

"I tell you the truth; it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment; in regard to sin, because men do not believe in me; in regard to righteousness, because I am going to the Father where you can see me no longer; and in regard to judgment, because the prince of this world n...

Make Known Your Majesty

Make known to us Your majesty

As we gather in this place;

And reveal to us Your presence

As together we seek Your face.

For as You came down from glory

To save us from the fall;

And as You showed us the Father,

Then gave Your Life for all,

May we hide Your truth within us,

And leave behind our wrongful ways;

May we humbly rise to meet Your call

And joyfully serve You all our days.

Make known to us Your will, O Lord

As we follow in Your ways,

And fi...

We seem to have a difficult time simply accepting many of the blessings that God has purchased for us. For example, the reality of our lives should be that we do not worry about anything. Instead, He calls us to rest and trust in Him. Our prayer for this week is that God will move us to that place of quiet confidence in our thoughts and in our prayers.

This week's Scriptural Prayer is taken from Philippians 4:6-7...

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in e...

In His ministry, Jesus was anointed by the Spirit. Luke 3: 21-22 tells us, “When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as He was praying, heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit descended on Him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: 'You are my Son, whom I love, with You I am well pleased.'"

Jesus was then driven into the wilderness by the Spirit to be tempted. "Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, retur...
