In His ministry, Jesus was anointed by the Spirit. Luke 3: 21-22 tells us, “When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as He was praying, heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit descended on Him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: 'You are my Son, whom I love, with You I am well pleased.'" Jesus was then driven into the wilderness by the Spirit to be tempted. "Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the desert, where for forty days He was tempted by the devil” (Luke 4:1). Let's continue to consider some of the blessings of our LIFE IN CHRIST. "For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace." ~ Romans 6:14 ADULT PRAYER: My Lord and Savior, the message of salvation could not be any clearer. My old way of life was nailed to the Cross of Christ, a decisive end to that sin-miserable existence. I am no longer at sin's beck and call! Praise God! In the name of Jesus I thank you. PRAYER FOR CHILDREN: Dear God, because I love You and trust You, You have come to live inside me. You make me strong so that I want to do the things that make You proud of me. I don't have to do things that are bad! Thank you, Jesus, Amen.

The Spirit of Life

“Through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of Life set me free from the law of sin and death.” (Romans 8: 2, NIV) What is the Spirit of Life? In the New Testament the Holy Spirit is described as “the Spirit of Truth”, “the Spirit of Promise”, “the Spirit of Grace”, and “the Spirit of Glory”. However, the designation “the Spirit of Life” is all inclusive. It binds up all the other meanings into one. This phrase indicates the relationship God has to all of life. The word “Spirit” in this verse refers to life at its highest and best.
